Pada hakekatnya Kawasan Wisata Rohani dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat ziarah, tempat untuk berdoa dengan tenang dan khusyuk dan tempat untuk melaksanakan retret (pembinaan rohani). Oleh karena itu biasanya kawasan Wisata Rohani ramai dikunjungi pada hari besar agama Khatolik seperti Natal, Paskah dan selama bulan Maria pada bulan Mei dan Oktober.

Namun Kawasan Wisata Rohani Bukit Kelam ini juga diharapkan dapat dijadikan tempat positif, seperti seminar, diskusi, pelatihan dan tempat istirahat terutama untuk masyarakat sekitar dan Kabupaten Sintang pada umumnya. Apalagi kawasan ini memang menyatu dalam kawasan wisata Bukit Ketam. Setidaknya demikianlah yang diharapkan oleh Gubernur Cornelis saat meresmikan Kawasan Wisata Rohani Bukit Kelam tersebut.

Di Kawasan Wisata Rohani Bukit Kelam pengunjung dapat menyaksikan patung kisah perjalanan Yesus dan Gua Maria. Selain itu kawasan ini juga akan dilengkapi sarana baru yang disebut Rumah Retret Temenggung Tukung. Saat 1001Sintang mengunjungi lokasi ini tampak sarana baru tersebut sedang dalam pembangunan.

Kawasan Wisata Rohani Bukit Kelam ini terletak lebih kurang 30 km dari kota Sintang, Kalimantan Barat. Jika ditempuh dengan kendaraan roda empat akan memakan waktu sekitar 45 menit. Namun perjalanan itu terasa pantas untuk dapat menikmati panorama nan mengagumkan di Kawasan Wisata Rohani Bukit Kelam.

Bujang Beji
